A Biological Safety Cabinet (BSC), also known as a Biosafety Cabinet, is used for handling pathogenic biological samples or procedures requiring a sterile work zone. It creates controlled inflow and downflow air to protect the operator. The downflow air passes through ULPA/HEPA filters, producing an ISO Class 3 work area that prevents cross-contamination. Exhaust air is also ULPA/HEPA filtered to protect the environment.

A Class I Biosafety cabinet protects the operator and the environment from exposure to biohazards. It does not prevent samples being handled in the cabinet from being exposed to contaminants that may be present in room air. Naturally, there is a possibility of cross-contamination that may affect experimental consistency. Consequently, the scope and application of Class I cabinets is limited, and it is largely considered obsolete.

The most common Class II cabinet. It has a plenum from which 30% of air is exhausted, and 70% re-circulated to the work area as the downflow.
Stated from NSF/ ANSI 49:2010, both the Class II Type A1 and Type A2 must have the positively-pressurized contaminated plenum to be surrounded by negative pressure. In case there is a leakage on the positive plenum, the leaking aerosol will be pulled by the negative pressure back to the positive plenum, and it will not leak out.

Suitable for work with microbiological agents assigned to biosafety levels 1, 2, 3 and 4. They are frequently specified for work involving the most lethal biological hazards.
Work is performed through glove ports in the front of the cabinet. During routine operation, negative pressure relative to the ambient environment is maintained within the biosafety cabinet. This provides an additional fail-safe mechanism in case physical containment is compromised.
Micro centrifuge is a compact type of centrifuge ideal for separating small liquid samples at high speed (usually more than 6,000 rpm). Most micro centrifuge have available PCR strips rotor, adapters for 0.2 ml PCR tubes, and microhematocrit rotor.

Tabletop centrifuge is sometimes referred to as benchtop centrifuge. It is a larger type of centrifuge ideal for separating larger liquid samples at high speed (usually more than 4,000 rpm). While micro centrifuges run liquid samples using fixed-angle rotor only, most tabletop centrifuge have another type of rotor called swing-bucket. This type of rotor can spin samples up to 90° angle at lower speed. Tabletop centrifuge is commonly used in running various sample tubes at once.

A type of ventilation system that primarily functions to provide personnel protection against toxic fumes, vapors, and dust. This containment device is connected to a ducting where contaminants pass before being exhausted into the environment. Its secondary function includes protection against chemical spills, runaway reactions, and fires by acting as a physical barrier. Esco Frontier® Ducted Fume hoods superior containment and performance comply with ASHRAE 110 and EN 14175 standards.

Must have features:

The most basic of all Esco ducted fume hoods, with a single-wall construction, is designed for a fully maximized internal work zone. It is generally applicable for common laboratory applications such as boiling, evaporation, drying, and other applications that emit noxious fumes and vapors. Specifications:

An upgrade of its predecessors, representing design & engineering innovations that are at the forefront of fume hood technology. It has a rugged dual wall construction offering a robust design that allows service fixtures & electrical outlets to be mounted on both sides of the wall. It comes standard with:

It has a dual wall construction and is equipped with a microprocessor control system that shows continuous display of face velocity. This fume hood is designed to provide excellent fume containment and operator comfort.
Each EFD-B ducted fume hood comes standard with:

Esco Frontier® Acela™ (EFA) a high-performance, low-flow, ducted fume hood designed with precisely tuned aerodynamics, outstanding user safety, design flexibility, energy-efficiency, and aesthetics. A conventional laboratory fume hood that lets you save while keeping you safe.
Each EFA Fume Hood comes standard with:

Esco Frontier® Acid Digestion Fume Hood (EFQ) is a ducted fume hood designed for performing acid digestion or dealing with chemicals at high temperatures. This ducted fume hood is not suitable for handling perchloric acid applications.
Each EFQ Fume Hood comes standard with:

Esco Frontier® Acela™ Mining (EFA-M) is a ducted fume hood designed specifically for users in the mining industry. It has a 100mm deeper workzone to help contain chemical splashes and spills from highly corrosive chemicals.
Each EFA-M Fume Hood comes standard with:

An explosion-proof ducted fume hood that provides the highest level of chemical containment and almost no possibility of sparks in the workzone. This laboratory containment device is suitable for applications or rooms which have presence of highly flammable or explosive gases and vapours especially in the Oil & Gas industries.
Each comes standard with:

Esco Frontier® Perchloric Fume Hood (EFP) is a ducted fume hood designed for routine handling of hot perchloric acid and hot nitric acid. However, it is not advisable for applications involving sulphuric acid, acetic acid, organic solvents or any combustible materials.
When heated, perchloric acid vaporizes and condenses to form metallic perchlorates on hood, duct, and fan components. In addition to being highly corrosive, condensed vapors can react with hood gaskets, greaser, and collected mater

A ducted fume hood designed to provide a comfortable space when users have to deal with tall apparatus and large hazardous containers that require increased height area. It is built with a vertical sliding sash for ease of access when transporting apparatus into the hood.
